Book a free 15 minute introductory call, or email me directly. If we agree to start working together, I'll send over a counselling agreement to complete before your first session.
It's a relaxed, no-obligation conversation so we can get a sense of each other and see if we're a good fit to work together and any practical considerations. You can ask any questions you may have about counselling or working with me. There's no pressure to book further sessions afterwards.
Counselling usually takes place weekly, in one 50 minute session. I recommend an initial commitment of six weeks to allow our therapeutic relationship to develop. At the six-week mark, we review our progress together, make sure we're a good fit, and decide how the work will continue.
I use talking therapy. I have an integrative approach, drawing on Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, with an interest in somatic (body-based) and creative work. You can read more about how I work on the homepage.
I've worked together with clients on so many different types of issues, for example: anxiety, depression, trauma, Complex Emotional Needs, neurodivergence, grief, family relationships and other family issues, divorce, affairs and separation, coping with illness, loneliness, low self-confidence, and spirituality.
Yes, I offer in-person sessions in a village between the towns of Ross-on-Wye and Mitcheldean (on the border between Herefordshire and Gloucestershire). I also work with people from the UK and around the world by video-call.
Sessions are £60 each. I offer a limited number of concessionary rates for people who can only afford a reduced fee, available on a first come, first served basis.
I'm registered to work with a number of health insurers, including Allianz, Cigna, Healix, Vitality and WPA. If you have a different provider, do check with them directly, or get in touch and I can help.
The therapy room is on the ground floor. If you need to use the bathroom, there is one step on the way.
There is plenty of off-road parking available.
Yes. I keep brief, anonymised clinical notes linked to a unique client code rather than your name, and your information is accessed only by me. There are a small number of legal and professional exceptions to confidentiality, which are explained fully in the counselling agreement we complete as we start our work together.
Yes. I welcome clients from all faiths, cultures and ethnic backgrounds, and all the many other ways in which diversity is experienced.
We are shaped by where, and with whom, we live- as well as how we're wired. I recognise what an important aspect of self it is to share in the counselling room; I have myself been so enriched by living and working in several continents and the diverse histories and ways of being of my clients.
I encourage you to bring your faith, religion or spirituality into the counselling; research shows counselling is more effective when this is made part of the work together (Bouwhuis-Van Keulen et al., 2024).
